World Service Opportunities

• From preschools to high schools, medical clinics to resource centers, vocational training to therapy sessions, Quota-run projects in the We Share Foundation's Hand-in-Hand World Service Program vary according to the needs of the community they serve.
• While the 19 current projects differ in many ways, they share one common goal - helping people pave a route out of poverty.
• This committee reviews programs approved through Quota International's World Service and makes recommendations for donations of budgeted funds.
• Examples of Hand-in Hand projects we have supported include a vocational training program for women in Ba, Fiji; a neonatal hearing screening center in Davao City, Philippines; and a day care center in Cebu, Philippines.

In 2018, the World Service Committee voted to support this program with a donation of $1200.

Our club also lends support to the Malaika Step by Step Learning Center in Arusha, Tanzania where a Waterloo Quotarian has volunteered for many years. 

 

 

 Quotarian Dolly Maier with Neema at the Step by Step School in Arusha, Tanzania.   Neema is very endearing, although she does not speak and has limited use of one arm and one leg.
